Default How have you mounted you winch solenoid under the hood?

OK simple question, I know someone has done this.

Where and how did you mount the winch Solenoid under the hood? or in different location other then the winch itself?

I have an Engo 9000i Winch with wireless remote so I don't need it easily accessible. Just need it mounted safely

Here's mine on my '13JK. Got a small piece of aluminum at Lowe's or Home Depot(don't remember) . Thickness was just enough to handle the weight of the solenoid, (which isn't much). Measure a piece big enough to hold the solenoid with allowance for a tab to bolt to the Jeep using existing bolt holes. Also, some holes to hold the solenoid to the plate. Easy enough as you have to remove the solenoid cover to replace 2 of the cables. If I remember correctly the solenoid bottom already has 4 holes and they are perfect for the install. Don't forget you will need longer cables (2) of the appropriate guage. 2 or 4 guage , sorry don't remember. The post I followed on this install said you needed about 6 1/2' of both cables. I seem to remember that 6' on each would have been enough. That's up to you. This is an easy install. It took me about 2 hours to complete...I would say about 45 minutes of that was running around looking for the new cables. Napa had the cable but, no connectors ( just out at the time). Got the connectors and had them crimped on at a Interstate battery store. Anyway perfect fit. After several months, no rattles and the solenoid clears the hood perfect.

Do not skimp on the size of the cables. Changing the length of the supplied cables from about 18" to 6' you need to go to larger cables.

I just used an L bracket and secured it to a bolt on the inner fender.
