How Do I Tell Which Axle I Have?
I need to upgrade my 3.21 axle to a 4.88 to accommodate my 35's on my 07 Sahara, but how can I tell if I have a Dana 30, 35 or 44?

x2 If you don't have a rubicon, then it's 30 front, 44 rear. But you could check you're VIN and ask the dealership. I don't think there's an option for the 44 front in the X or Sahara, but I could be wrong.

actually, there have been a few guys on here that said that they had real early 07 models and they had D35's in the back. Post a photo of your rear (that sounds really bad) and I can ID it for you.

unless you special ordered your JK with a front 44. you have a 30. if i would of know i could of ordered my "X" with 44's front and rear i would of. Bastards of a Stealership!

ya, you will have a 30 in the front. unless you special ordered a D44.... but if you did that you would know it I think. In the rear you will likely have a D44. There is a slight chance it could be a D35 tho.

There is no option to get a D44 front for an X that I know of. I ordered a 07 JK X with a D44 rear locking rr diff + sway disco for $1500, but I do not believe there were any options for the front diff. As I look over the Jeep site now, the X locker option isn't even there anymore.
