Use a good hole drill as outlined and pick up a body saw at Habgor Freight. I got mine for $9.99 and it worked great. You'll also want a good fiber grinding wheel to smooth the edges of the cut. It's really a cake walk. I had mine installed in under an hour. You'll need a small rivet tool too.

yup thats it. you can get them with a coupon for $9.99. I did use a small cut off wheel on the back side of the hood too. I also cut and sewed up the fire/insulation hood liner.

yeah seems like that body saw would be a little more safe that the cut off wheel when doing the top of the hood since it doesnt look like it will bounce or kick back on you

Make sure you get a GOOD hole cutting bit that is made for metal...I got one from HF also and after one hole it was shot. Went over to Sears and got a craftsman one and it was like a hot knife through butter lol.

The hard part of this job is knowing how many shots of Jack you'll need to steady your nerves.....then the cutting part is easy

I used a cutoff tool hooked to an air compressor. Sliced like butter.
