Read the locker thread a few down from yours. It has some good info, and also a link to a great 101 writeup by dynatrac.

Front or rear is a personal preference, but my opinion is that the rear would be better if you only do one. Though if the budget is tight and winter weather is not a concern, look at a lunchbox up front first.

I think for me I'll do a selectable. But what happens if you are engaged and have to make a turn with like an arb?

Three-point turn?
Five-point turn?
Winch the front end sideways?

Or just turn it off?

(that's why you pay the big bucks for a selectable, right? because you can turn it on and off when you choose to)

I would have to imagine 35s with 3.21 gears would be terrible

I've been running 33's with the 3.21 and it's really not good and I have 35's ordered (make that backordered ) and I'm regearing to 4.88's next week! Save up and regear ASAP!

Im in the same situation i've got the 3.21's and im upgrading to 35's in the near future but im saving up to re gear at the same time as i get the 35's but i do have a question (not trying to high jack the thread). From what i've read i need to get a new carrier in the front dana 30 to accommodate the 4.88's i plan on installing because the stock carrier won't hold the larger gears. Is that correct because im gonna need to save up quite a bit longer if i need to buy a locker

If you have 3.21's, you will want a new carrier for the front. They are less than $100. If you opt for a full case locker, it will take the place of the new carrier.

You'll think it's the best mod you've done, I'll wager.
