Default hot oil light

when i 4 wheel in the sand (down here in florida) my hot oil light comes on & beeps ,i used to be able to drive a couple of miles back into the woods before it would come on but now its alot sooner some one told me it was the trans,fluid not the oil . anyone having this problem, and do u have a fix,i was thinking about a trans,coolant system

You need a trans cooler my friend, do a search there are quite a few threads on this. I'd also service the trans too.

Were you in 4hi? That adds a lot of slippage to the torque converter, (the heat generator).

thats what i was thinking jeep only has 13.000 ml on it thanks

what year do you have? My 2011 came with a trans cooler from the factory but know some didnt. Also do you have an auto or man tranny?

have to the sand down here gets pretty deep, i have to pull over let it cool down then go in4low its fine in the mu/water

2010 mountain auto tranny thinking about a tranny cooler&oil cooler

If you have water in your transmission it could cause it to heat up quick, I would at least change your fluid, then put in a transmission cooler.

Yea I dont think any of the '10's came with a tranny cooler so that might be a wise investment if your overheating easily. Check the fluid as well and see if it looks like a milkshake. If so change it out. Heck just swap it out regardless. Should solve your issues.

Can you post a picture of it and maybe its plumbing? I'm just wondering how big it is.
I know all the Automatic JKs came with a small cooler on the bottom of the A/C condenser.
Finally in 2012, they included a bigger aftermarket type cooler in front of the radiator and the A/C condenser.
