I think this thread needs a gear chart and discussion about oil consumption. Both are equally important.

Yeah, this is a bit harsh but to the point, I agree. It comes off the lot advertising 16/19. So it's a safe assumption that most drivers won't quite operate their vehicle in a condition that is conducive to meeting that number. U add weight, reduce aerodynamics, and neglect to correct the speedo, and down go the mpgs.

I've been hovering around 11mpg and you won't hear me complain. That's winter blend, lots of warm up time since she's at 105k, and city driving. Oh,... And it's a jeep!

I just wanted to know if 11 is what to expect. I mean, I knew I would take a hit, but dropping from the 18mpg I was getting in the city to 11, is a huge hit. It's a range loss of almost 100 miles. I don't give a damn about milage, but it just doesnt seem right

Yupp. Everyone says "who buys a jeep for fuel mileage?!" uh nobody...BUT would be nice if it got more. I get around 11-14 on average drive to work. Got to pay to play, but yeah 11 is ridiculous lol. My gfs car gets about 40 mpg, but she gets stuck in snow..mine can plow over small children.

If u correct your speedo, it will appear to be a 1-2 mpg gain. Beyond that, you're in cold weather this time of year so u will take a loss from warm up time and winter blend. 18 in the city was a very impressive number. At stock, mine did 15 city and 21 highway.

My 2012 Unlimited with 35's and 4.56 gears is getting 16.5 around town, haven't really been on the highway enough to tell what that is....which is a lot better than my 2010 or 2011 got with 35's...even after Superchips, CAI, and 4.88 gears they at best were getting 13-14 and that was on the highway.

My MPG is around 16 combined, better when I drive the interstate. MPG was really bad when I first did the lift (3.5", 4:88, six speed and 35s) and installed new drive shaft. Turns out one of the joints in the drive shaft was faulty and was contributing to the poor performance and mileage. After warranty fixed the shaft, mileage is more now 16 in town and 18-19 on the interstate. So, my point is make sure all your upgrades are operating properly, defective parts may adversely impact performance.
