I installed the polyurethane tie downs awhile back to keep the hood flutter down on my 2010. I held each side of the plastic pin that holds the rubber latches in place with plyers and twisted until they snapped in two pieces. My kit came with new metal screws to replace them. Then you can get to the screw that attaches the actual latch to the hood.

I used a flat screwdriver to shear off one of the heads, then push the bolt out.

I just use two pair of vice grips and twist. The plastic pins in there will twist right apart.

Any damage or scratches from twisting them off?

Just lay a towel down to protect the hood.

Got them apart by using a screw driver and hammer. You deffinately want to put a rag or towel down to protect the hood and finder! Take that advice I know have a nice little scratch on my fender!
