Here's some pics...it's hard to really tell what it looks like now because it's behind the grill....

The little black "tab" on the right rotates to the UP position to lock the hood...it doesn't let the "hook" move over to the right which is what "locks" the hood.

Here's the one I've got (made by Rugged Ridge)
It does on mine....you can definately tell when I forget to lock it.

Don't buy mopar, i broke mine right after installing it... You could still open the hood, so i've try to adjust it and it broke. they use some cheap alloy in those..

I am actually waiting for a company to make some lockable billet replacement for the stock rubber hold downs like has been done for other jeeps in the past. I have seen several "bling" replacements but they don't lock. What kind of dumbasses thought of that one. ![ROTFLMAO-1](https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/images/smilies/rotflmao5.gif)
Edit: Something like this is what I'm holding out for.

To all of you who don't know....I tried removing the spring on my Jeeps hood and it stopped the hood lift, another member started a post on it and it really did work.
Now at 85 on the highway nothing! its stays where it should be.
