Default hood flutter

I'm about to take my 08 jku on a 1000 mile road trip. It's got a 3.5 inch lift and I was wondering if the Daystar Hood Wranglers would actually do any good for hood flutter? I know the Rugged Ridge latches would be better, but this is much more cost effective.

I have no experience with upgraded hood latches, however - I simply took out the spring under the hood where the latch is. Pretty much have no hood flutter at all, at any speed. Just a tip if you haven't already done so....

I put on the Daystar's and they work great. I have a corridor that I drive every day that is very high wind... have to turn of OVD just to keep speed up. Hood flutter gone with the upgrade.

they work, cheap and do the job. Recommended. It takes a decent push to lock them on, and no more hood flutter.

Agreed, they work very well. Their inexpensive, easy and quick to install. My hood doesn't move at all since I put them on. I think they were one of my first mods.

Daystars work great, I could not believe how much hood flutter I had after buying my Jk. Wish they had a cable operated latch inside for security and safety.

I removed the hood spring, still had flutter. Installed Daystar latches, reinstalled the hood spring, no flutter. It was ridiculous how stretchy/rubbery the stock latches were.

The Daystars do work great but when they are first installed they are very tight. After a few months they do limber up.

As has been said above, the Daystars work great. I had them on my 07 because I thought I was going to lose my hood on the highway. I put them on my 2013 a week after I got it because I knew what was coming. Even with 150 km on it the thing had mild hood flutter. They're cheap and effective. Go for it.
