Home made Corner Armor Lame or no?

I would recommend adding a 1"-1.25" tube welded near the top of the armor to give more stiffness and something to rub on should you need to and not mess up the entire side of the armor should you get into a tight spot.

That is my exact plan. I first planned to do like the or-fab with the tube slider, and build tube fenders with support from the underside as well as welding them to the side armor (I think it looks a lot better being 1 piece) but now that I've thought about it I think it'll look dumb with the flare and tube. So now I am deciding between 1 or the other. Thanks for the feed back.
