Smack, you used c-channel correct?
I used 3/16' plate

here is another pic


I also made skid plate under to protect sway bar disco. I used 4" pipe to make holes for stock fogs. tow hooks are on the outside and inside of those I welded tow bar bracket.

thank you so much for your help blkruby & smack, now i have got the jist of it and I think I can handle it.. after using my brain a little I googled the mounts and now understand...

I dont know about cali smack but, in south texas everything is nasty; mesquites (thorn bushes) are in an abundence.. so ill probly take your design but mabey strech it out for extra potection.. Might even mount a shreader.. j/k

no, 6x2 tubing. I also put a reciever hitch behind license plate so I can use a portable winch someday.

vary nice drawing, now I understand, ill print that out so I wont forget... that is a vary slick way to hide the bolts, I never would have thought of that.

and smack2020.. great idea.. im going to copy you but extend it to protect my fenders... mabey come off of it at an angle following the grille

IMHO, tubing like Smacks will make the bumper extremely heavy. If i were you i would use 3/16" plate with a torch or angle grinder with a cut off wheel.
