hmm... that seems easy enough.

Any reason you couldn't mount that up even higher? Say, up around the bend in the roll bar?

Can you deploy the soft top with that mounted where it is?

Thats freaking awesome... I wonder if the base plate would flap on the soft windows and ruin them. I dont have a high lift yet but can you take the base plate off?

Mine is mounted on the front bumper. It is only there when I am wheeling.

They are the Hi-Lift 4XRAC mounts with a 1"x1" spacer underneath to get the whole thing above the tow hooks. I even rigged up a shovel mount with some Quickfist clamps that mounts on top of the hi-lift.

Yes, I believe just a cotter pin holds it on. I'm sure it could be modified.

It is, but right now it's more of a two person job.

Right now it is help up by the seat belt housing, so a new higher mount would need drilling or a better, tight fit.

I have a hard top, so I'm not sure about the soft top. However, it's pretty slim fitting so I imagine it'd be ok.

Ok, pics as promised. It doesn't rattle much on washboard roads, and never on soft roads and pavement FYI.

Also, working on a better design, ordering my parts this weekend, will probably start my own build thread for this little project later.

I know it's an old post, but the box was custom built. I removed it a few months ago.

I have my rear seat out ( for good) so I just put mine on the floor right behind the front seats with 2 rubber bungies strapped around it & latched to the floor rear seat brackets it's out of the way of everything, works for me & cost $4.00
