I have a 2010 JKU Sahara with Hyline front and rear bumpers. The rear has the tire carrier on it also. The tire carrier has an option to buy a bracket for a Hi-lift jack or a bracket to mount I think 2 rotopacks on it. So I have been looking around at what might be the best way to carry both (not necessarily on the tire carrier bracket) there aren't a whole lot of places to put gas cans that I know of so I feel like the bracket for the rotopacks is one of my best options and then find a good spot for the jack placement somewhere else. I saw a link on the forum for a jack bracket that can mount in front of the driver or passenger door which seemed kind of cool but I'm not sure if it is the best place for it and if there might be some negatives to having it there that I don't know about. Anyways I was wanting some opinions/pics from some other builds on a clever or "best placement" for these items to sort my situation out and let some other builds show off theirs. I always like it when I see something where I would never expect it and it is practical and original.

Does that mount to the rear door brackets?

Yup - I just fabbed up some brackets using the existing 4 bolts that hold on the tailgate at the hinge. Very sturdy and probably cost me $40.

This is what I went with since I wanted to protect the jack from thieving hands and weather.

Unfortunately no pics yet, because the friggin jack was back ordered! Also, it only works for the 48" hi-lift.

My 48" jack is mounted on the back bars of the roll bar using exhaust pipe brackets and some steel bars that I bent to shape. Total cost was less than $10. It keeps it out of the weather, I don't have to lock it, and it doesn't really interfere with storage space in the JKUR.
Sorry; no pictures, but others have posted on this approach, so do some searching and you'll find them.

Seems like a lot of stuff to take off if you need to use your hi-lift, but not a terrible idea. How much was the jeep swap clap?
