I like them mounted on the rear of the Jeep either the tailgate or aftermarket tire carrier. I was running a Rugged Ridge mount that mounted to the tailgate hinges that I really liked. It was cost effective and out of the way.

I had a hood mount but did not like it being there. Hard to get off and on and mine blocked the sprayer.

Just pulled off the mount since I now have a 35" tire on the stock tire carrier and saving to get an aftermarket tire carrier...

You don't show in your profile wether your a 2dr or a 4. I'll guess from your picture that your a 2 dr. I originally mounted mine out back on the rear bumper, but over time I realized that I had way to much weight a the back that was throwing off my balance. I currently have it mounted behind the front seats. The other option that I considered was on the hood. The 4dr's have more mounting options. I like the river raider mount on the 4dr.

I have the River Raider mount for the rear roll bars in my 2dr. it keeps it inside and out of the elements and i use it to hold my tool box on the trial. If you want to see it let me know i work over by 4Wheel Parts.

I have the Rugged Ridge mt. I really like it being on the back . It also allows you to lock the jack so no one will steal it.

Default Front bumper

I got a used mopar front bumper and hacked off the top tube, built a tool box in the winch pocket (for chain, shackels, bottom jack plate ect) and used threadall throught the bumper and the highlift sits perfect on the top of the bumper.
