If you spent time to hunt parts... You could definitely do a LS1 swap for less than 5k .... You would not have a "new" motor but you would have a V-8 ... And for that price... All labor would be done by you and friends for free. I could get LS 1 's from yards for less than 3k all day (with trans)

Thanks for the input. I have a shop on Long Island and we are looking for a winter project for the shop JK. Its my daily driver and my other truck is a 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel and I miss the get up and go. We have built everything from jeep and trucks with 44s to slammed on the ground S'10s. Street driven 8 second street cars and on. Building this Jeep has been the most fun and the kids love it.

Go with the Hemi from Burnsville.
You get factory warranty and dealership service capabilities. You can run 87 octane in the 5.7 and it only gets 1mpg less than our 3.8.

3. Better fuel economy from what I can gather from all of the threads
I will say that the low-end torque of a v-8 is nice...but better low-end torque only goes so far in my mind.

To the op- Why not spend 5k and use the other 5k on other mods.
