Default Hemi dudes: What did you do with your 3.8L?

Can anything useful be done with the stock 3.8L to offset the cost of the hemi install? How does one go about selling as heavy and cumbersome as an engine, and to whom?

I saw a 3.8 engine and auto tranny out of an 07 Wrangler sell on ebay for less than $400. Maybe it was from a Hemi swap?

I am interested, as this is something that I can take into consideration when looking at the price of an engine swap.

I thought the places doing the conversions actually had you trade them in as a "core"?

That is my understanding as well. Most shops that do swaps will take your existing engine in trade to help offset your costs... You may only get $200-$300 for it, but that's better than nothing!

I know on the AEV web site they say you get it back to do whatever you want with it. Mayby Dan will chime in and let us know what he is doing with them, sionce I doubt he has 50+ of these sitting around the shop.

I think there are plenty of mini-van moms beating the hell out of there engines that could use them as a donation

Actually I only have about 30 of them lying around. If anyone wants one stop by the shop and I will load you up. The rest are at local salvage yards waiting to be sold. There is no market for them until these JKs fall out of warranty. I have sold 3 of them in the last year.
