Can someone familiar with the Hemi conversion tell me what to look for in terms of the motor and tranny that I need in order to do a 5.7 Hemi swap. The motor I came across is a 5.7L from a 2005 Jeep Cherokee, will it work?

I'm pretty sure the engine mounts are different, but I've never done the swap, so don't hold me on that. Id look through the threads and find someone who has done the swap and PM them. Just my 2c

Usually a conversion kit will get you everything you need. Engine mounts, wiring harness, exhaust, etc. Just make sure you have the tools, or the huge wad of cash to get someone else to do it... Since a swap like that takes time an prep, anything you need you can get whenever you figure it out. Whose conversion kit are you gonna go with though?

Look up AEV hemi kit and Burnsville Offroad hemi kit.

They're the major guys out there. Get the numbers from the hemi motor and tranny, so when you call them, they can tell you if you should go for it.

I know Jeep hemis are easier to swap in then Dodge Truck hemis due to the exhaust manifolds.

I just finished putting in a 2011 Hemi VVT out of a Ram truck and it's bad ass! I would suggest calling Todd at jeep speed shop. He can hook you up with anything you need and his customer service will defiantly come in handy if you do it yourself

We're you able to get your cruise control to work? Todd did my jeep about 6 months ago and now no cruise control. He said he was working on a fix?

I did the swap myself and no problems at all. I did break the clock spring and lost cruise control, but that was my fault. 250.00 later and a new clock spring, my cruise and ESP was back. Todd has answered all my calls and has had a answer for just about every problem I came upon.
