Help with Wheel Width
I was on the 4 wheel parts.com website looking at ordering my new wheels. I was looking at the Pro Comp Extreme Alloys 7089 black finish. They have two different types. Both are 16” 5x5 with 4.5 backspacing. However the width of the wheel differs from 8” to 10”. I plan on mounting them on BF Goodrich KM2’s 305/70R16 Load Range D. Which wheel width do I want and how do I know they will be able to mount on the tire I plan on purchasing? Anyone else running this set-up that can give me some info on what to expect?

I'm no expert, but I've always believe that a rim on the narrower side of the spec range is better. It should hold better to a lower air pressure and will offer a bit more protection to the wheel as the rubber sidewalls stick out a tad. A narrower rim will also mean a slightly narrower tire width, so there's that to consider.

12.50 width
I've seen several places where they don't suggest running a 12.50" wide tire on a rim less than 9", but I see many people on here running them on 8" rims, seemingly without any issues. Anybody have a good explanation as to why they manufacturer's don't recommend it?

Unless you are going to run a wider tire than 12.50 or like the look of a wider rim then go with the 10 inch rim.

Thanks again Triple Jeep. I would rather have the performance over looks. I'll get the 8" width but it looks as if I am going to have to piece together a set of 5 from different places. These are all on national backorder.
