Default help with tires and wheels

hi all, i'm new to this forum, and somewhat new to jeep wranglers altogether. i got a 2011 jeep wrangler sport back in may, and it's completely stock (except for window tint).

i wanted to get some tires and wheels for it, and just had a few questions.
a friend of mine has 33" tires on 16" wheels with 4.5" backspacing. his fit no problem, no rubbing on the fenders or the control arms or anything.
but i have heard that with 33" tires you need at least a 2" lift. well....his fit, so is it false that i would need a lift? i'm not looking at going all out rock crawling, and all that. i just want something more aggressive and something with good tread that i can go offroading in, as well as on road.

if i get these wheels: http://www.4wd.com/Jeep-Wheels-Jeep-...2-5173#active1

with these tires: http://www.4wd.com/Jeep-Tires-Jeep-T...GEN05684050000

will they fit? they are 33"x12.5"x15 tires and the wheels are 15x10.5 with 3.75" backspacing.

any help, info or tips would be greatly appreciated! thank you!

You do not need a lift to run those tires. With 15" wheels, you have to be careful they do not rub your brake calipers. With the 3.75" backspacing you should be ok. In the event that there is a little rubbing, just grind a little off of the calipers.

If you plan to go off road I'd advise you to get at least a bb

Bb= budget boost (not really a lift, just bigger spacers giving you about 2" max)
