yea man, i called my local jeep dealer and they said that there is something in the works at jeep, they say it could be a rack that attaches to the roll cage, therefore u have to have the top off to use the rack, i don't know but they better get something soon, waves are coming consistently with all these cold fronts down here!

I ride a 9'2" McTavish and 6'2" Quietflight surfboard. I just shove the boards into the back window and let them hang out the back for now. Go to jk racks . com (can't put in the link due to new rules). Anyway, that's pretty much what I've been considering getting (or something like it) for my rig. I think you can find some padding or a rack foot to fit it so the boards can have a safe place to be.

I've seen a thule rack that had tracks through bolted to the hard top. The racks could then slide forward and backward. Sorry no more info. than this.

I think I'm just going to have to bungy the boards onto the roll cage for now. I don't really need one of those big safari baskets, and anything that requires a hard top is out of the question.

In all the Jeep ads for the JK, they show one with no roof and surfboards on top. At the bottom it says, "show with optional Thule roof carry system" or something along those lines. I haven't been able to find this "Thule roof carry system" for topless jeeps. Has anyone seen this?
