Be careful with the Yakima rack rails. They replaced the bolts and washers by nutserts and those are not a good option for the fiberglass rooftop. Here's a thread about this.

I returned the one I got and bought the Thule, which uses bolts and washers.

Is this worth buying and bolting it on the roof??? I can afford a $500+ roof rack :( anyone have pictures??? Or done something like this before?

the. Ingest issue that I see is having to bolt it to the top. You will drastically limit yourself to the weight you can reliably carry doing it that way since the roof isn't designed to support a load itself. You could get by with it if you only had small stuff, but just make sure you don't get a wild hair and throw some heavy tags up there. A $500 rack is cheaper than a new hard top.
