Help! Pulled front locker sensor plunger thingy - now locker wont disengage
#11
It was much easier than I thought. Loosened the bolts about 1/2" and pried the carrier out (wasn't too tight). Installed the plunger with a tiny chunk of a pencil wedging the plunger all the way open. Then slid the carrier back in and tightened up the caps. Had to push the piece of wood out with a coat hanger and it fell to the bottom of the case.
Took about an hour. Glad I used anti-seize on the outer hubs - axles came right out this time :-).

I have just gone through the same process as you, and made the same error, I will not be wheeling for the next few months, would it be the end of the world to drive my jeep without the sensor? Is there any damage that can be caused by doing so? -thanks

No damage or issue if you aren't going to be using the locker. Just need something to plug the hole.

Oh man - sorry to hear that! Yeah, like "none" said, just cap or plug it. Kind of a goofy system if you ask me. Surprised it's even possible to remove sensor without pulling carrier first with the way it's designed.
