Help a newbie out with a 2.5 inch lift
I'm new to the forum and looking for some advice for my first suspension lift. I have a 2011, bright silver, Rubi Unlimited. It's bone stock at this point, but my plans are to lift it enough to put a set of 18x9 XD Addicts (4.56bs) and Trail Grappler 35's on it. Addition mods will follow (i.e. bumpers, winch, bushwacker flat flares, possibly intake/exhaust/programmer....the list goes on and on) as the secret slush fund builds back up. It's my daily driver and will mostly see paved roads, with little "Wheelin". I've done a fair amount of research and looks like a quality setup is the Teraflex 2.5 coil suspension lift with the Bilstein 5100's. I want to get rid of the factory "Rake" look, and am curious if an additional spacer will be needed in the front, to do so.
Will the basic coil kit and quality shocks be sufficient or should I also be investing in control arms, steering stabilizers or additionals? I'm looking for a smooth ride on the road and sufficient suspension for trail riding, if I get a wild hair. (No rock crawlin or mud boggin in the forseeable future).
One more question for those who have experience. With the additional weight of the 35 inch spare tire on the back, I assume the stock bracket (with a spacer/adapter) won't be beefy enough for the extra weight. Suggestions?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

The TF lift is a quality lift that many in this forum run and they are an active sponsor. You will not be disappointed with that lift. Control arms are nice and with help align things after the lift but not required. The 5100s are also nice shocks. For light wheeling this set up is hard to beat and great even for harder stuff if you want. I would look into a bumper/tire carrier for the 35s, there are a ton so really it comes down to personal preference, I am a fan of Poison Spyder stuff. Both TF and Poison Spyder are forum sponsors. Good luck and welcome to the forum! Post pics when you get her lifted. Are you running a manual or auto?

We have put together a great package deal for our forum customers utilizing the popular Teraflex 2.5" coil kit that will allow you to run up to a 35” tire (aftermarket wheels with 4.5” backspacing or less are required/ or wheel spacers). Fits all JK Wranglers including Rubicon and Unlimited.
Pairing this kit with the Bilstein 5100 shocks get you one of the best riding JK setups on the road with MUCH improved off road capabilities.
We are offering FREE SHIPPING on this kit to the lower 48 states and have great international rates as well. State tax added to price for California residents only.
$740.00 OTD
I have been told the price will go up in January 2012, that is a sale day away!
After the sale the price will look some thing like this:
Teraflex JK 2.5" Lift Kit $451.99
Bilstein 5100 Shocks $84.99 ea. x 4 + $339.96
That is $791.95 - Plus shipping, depending on what part of the country the $ could add up.
PM, E-mail, or Call for more information, or to place an order.
