Default HELP NEEDED: Will 33" 12.5 work on my 18" Sahara Rims?

Hi guys,

Ive got a Rubi Unlimited, but put the Sahara 18"x7.5" wheels on it, with the dueler A/T rubber. Im wanting to put some muddies on these rims. Ideally, I want to get Mickey Thompson MTZs in 33/12.5R18 (325s)

On their website, they have a recommended rim width starting from 9". Apparently alot of people have done this before with no problems. Alot of the tyre places dont recommend me doing it, but will still fit them to the rim but not liable if the tyre slips off. I for one think its fine, but does it look stupid? Will It balloon out heaps and just look wrong?

Does anyone have pics of a 18" sahara wheel with similar dimension 33s? I am definitely wanting to use these rims and nothing else, as I love the look and if I can get those muddies on and it would still look good, im happy

Cheers guys

Yes, they will fit your rims, but you will definitely need to install some wheel spacers. The OEM's don't have enough backspacing and will rub in a few places.

oh yeh, ive actually got 1.5" spidertraxx spacers on it now. Is that enough? Would it look stupid with those sort of tyres on a 7.5" rim?

Im hoping someone will have some pics

Absolutely! I'm running 35"s on my stock 18" wheels. And yes you need 1.5" spacers.

Click on my gallery under my avatar. I have tons of pics. Yes the tires do stick out a little more past the rim than they do on other wider wheels but it keeps the rocks off my wheels. Also I think it makes it hold the beed better on the rim.

i have the same question, but i want to run iroks 33 x 13.50 on my stock 18" sahara wheels. will i have problems?? or should i just stick with 33 x 12.50??

interco website says iroks 33 x 13.50 are 12.80 width and mud grapplers 33 x 12.50 are 12.68 width is it a big difference??

thanks

Yep, that looks really really good, had a good look through your gallery. How much did the Nittos cost you? Yeah thats another big plus I think, that fact that they protect the rims a bit better. Deflating them for 4x4, have u had any problems with the tyre slipping off the bead?

Anyone with 33" pics on the sahara rims?

They have never come off the bead. Yet! (knock on wood) I air tem down to 10-12 psi when I go wheelin. I normally run them at 26psi. They were about $300.
