help me decide on tire size
Hey guys,
I need your help. I just bought a '08 2 door Rubicon. After many days of forum hunting I settled on the RK 2.5 x factor lift kit, which was ordered yesterday from river city offroad -( thank you for the great deal Markus) and I'm getting it installed as soon as it arrives .
Now to my question - I had settled on 35" tires and since this is going to be my DD I chose bfg mk2s as the tire of choice. That was untill yesterday I read that bfg 35s run more like 33.5 abd 37s run more like 35.5. So that made me consider getting the 37s instead of the 35s but my concern is with performance. I will at some point regear the jeep but the tires and lift kit are breaking the bank as it is so for now regearing will have to wait. Please share your opinions on pros cons of 35 vs 37 km2s without regearing. Thank you

I would go with 35s unless you have the money to beef up the axles for 37s. I just switched to 35" KM2 tires with a 2.5" lift and it looks great. 37" tires would require flat fenders. The KM2s measure out to 33.75" on my rig.

For max mpg's an minimal power loss, 33's are a great route.... but most of us who ran 33's had regrets only to soon after go with 35's even at the sacrifice of some mpg's and power. A superchip helped me out.

Ok this is what i regret now.
I have 2012 sahara 4d.
And i set up rk 2.5 stock mod w/ bilstein, aev saverge, 285 75 r17 nitto trail grappler which is 34'.
I was stupid dicision.. I'm kinda worry about mpg loss and power, if i go for 35'.. So i choose 34'.. And it is expensive than 35'.. And 35' is looks better.
Second i regret is i should've just go for 3.5 or 4' lift.. 2.5 with 35' tire will be rubbed when you do full flex or wheeling on offroad. .
Sigh.. I just strongly recommend to go 3.5 with 35' .. Or if you want 37.. You also care about changing to dana 44..

Yeah I'm not concerned about mpg. If I were id get a prius . Now I do want the 37s. But getting the tires, wheels, lift kit and bumpers broke the bank. So theres no funds left for regearing ... :(
