Help me decide on painting my hardtop...
I've got a dilemma. Yesterday when taking off my soft top and replacing with my hard top I noticed that the Bestop storage trolley had scratched my hard top badly after it slipped off twice.
I live in the UK and found a company that uses Line-X only an hour from where I live.
I can't decide what to do:
1. Fill and paint over the scratches, paint roof in dark grey/black keeping with the standard JK look
2. Fill and paint over the scratches, paint roof in gloss black to match the bodywork
3. Line X the roof in satin black
The look of my JK is important to me. What do YOU think?

I personally think line-x would add a lot of weight and will stress your hoist...however line-x should cut down road noise and help insulate your top. The hardest spots i think will be around the windows and the edges for clearance purposes.

Unfortunately I don't have a big enough garage for a hoist. I took the Jeep into the Line-X dealer today and three of them took a close look, nobody mentioned the windows being an issue.

I would personally suggest against the Line-X.
A much easier and cheaper method would be to do it yourself. It really takes not a lot of work to use bedliner. i would advise against Plastidip for you, and would suggest using Primer, then either a spray on Bedliner such as Rustoleum, or using something such as Raptor Liner.
I use Rustoleum bedliner and have loved it for all my jobs. Hasn't peeled or flaked on any of my wheels in over 6 months.

I agree with the bed liner option also. And to save some $$ I'd go the DIY route myslef. Also I used Platidip on my wheels and hinges and have had no problem with peeling or anything. Just my experience with plastidip...
