Help me choose some lockers!

Since it wasn't posted earlier, great info here:

The TrueTrac is by far my favorite traction device for these front axles, but as noted, you should put some thought into upgrading before you start spending money on it.
Many people on here have had good luck locking their d30's, but my personal opinion is to go for a a limited for less stress. If 'you' think it is strong enough, and you want a locker instead of a great limited, go for a cheap lunchbox. No chance at all that I would dump a grand into a selectable for a 30!
For the rear, decide how much you want to spend. A TrueTrac would be fine for your needs. A Detroit will add a few hundred dollars and some on-road handling characteristics to get used to, but hard to beat them off-road. Or bump it up another few hundred, add air, and go for an ARB. Any of them would be top notch choices, just depends on your wants, needs and budget.
On a final note - I don't do a lot of wheels-in-the-air stuff, so I noticed no offroad difference between a detroit and a truetrac. On-road, the truetrac is the clear winner, especially when it gets slick.
(Started with a pair of detroits. Pulled the front detroit after one colorado winter and swapped in a truetrac. A few years later, blew the rear end and replaced that detroit with a truetrac. Your mileage may vary, but for my needs, front/rear truetracs was a much better choice than front/rear detroits).

If I was going to go with truetracs front and rear. Is it worth putting it in the front d30 or should I upgrade the front axel? I don't do crazy offroading, no rocks and keep wheels on the ground for the most part.

wait, I know regearing is something I could never do on my own because I don't have the right tools, are lockers something that can actually be a DIY?

ARBs are great until you lose an air line and then you have no lockers. I really felt sorry for the guys I have seen this happen to, on multiple occasions.
Cable lockers... work great as a selectable locker when they work. Worthless when they don't.
Lunchbox lockers, work very well until the added pressure on the carrier causes it to break. Ask me how I know. It happenned to me.
Detroit locker is the way to go.
Leave the dana 30 open unless you want to break on the trail. Again, ask me how I know.
Hope this helps.

Im in the same boat...I want to upgrade gears and while im at it do the lockers too. I just hate to do jobs half way and then go back and change it later. I wish I was rolling in dough to do it all at once!
