Default Help identify what this is

A few weeks after putting my new wheels/tires and lift, I noticed what appeared to be a discoloration occurring on one of my wheels. I thought it was potentially a defect. Fast forward to a few months later and a tire rotation, and it is now happening to the wheel that is at the drivers front. Two wheels, same location. I realized it is some sort of oil like residue, but hard to remove. What could it be?? I checked around my C and axle shaft and see no signs at all of diff fluid leaking. Clean as a whistle.

Definitely not brake dust. Plus, it only happens at the driver front location.

I checked the breather. All clean. Any chance it's brake fluid?

I would think if it was brake fluid you'd have a soft pedal, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to check the bleeder valve. Is it possible that your drivers side caliper is braking harder then the others creating more brake dust.... I know thats a stretch but if it's not diff oil, windshield washer fluid, or brake fluid I don't know what else it could be.

Yes, outside of the wheel and always toward the outer edge.

Man that's weird? Does it drip and accumulate more or drips and no more? Does it have a gear oil smell to it? What color is the unknown fluid?
