Default Help- flooded engine (JKU 3.6 engine_Auto)

Flopped while towing (engine off)

1st oil change after

Ready to crank with the spark plugs removed. But it wouldn’t crank…
Looking for some helpful advice as I flooded my engine. I’ll layout some details and what mx I’ve done so far. I got stuck in a mud hole and the water level was to the floor boards. I kept the engine running and was safely recovered. The Jeep wouldn’t go into drive and eventually started to stall. So we towed it out and THEN as we were towing it out we put it on its passenger side (flopped). The Jeep laid on it’s passenger side in some mud that came up to the intake. The engine was off and we flipped it over and towed it back…

So far I have flushed the oil and transmission fluid. I pulled the plugs to crank it and purge the water out of the cylinders, but the Jeep wouldn’t crank or do anything. The intake and manifold are removed and the battery is good.

Any tips on what I can do to crank it? Anything else I can do to repair it?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Since the fuse/relay box is on that side I'd remove all fuses and relays for drying. Maybe use contact cleaner to spray in the fuse/relay sockets to help dry them/clean them. Does the dash and interior items power up with key on?

The electrical components are not water sealed. You may have fried something if they got wet. I’d first be sure that you let it sit for a few days with the hood open to allow everything to dry and disconnect the battery.

Once you’re sure everything is dry then connect the battery and turn the ignition to the on position. Wait a few seconds and see if you have any codes pop up. Then go from there and post up if you have any codes.
