Help with buying first jeep
Hello everyone, first off I'm not sure if I am posting this in the right area. I have been wanting a jeep for a long time and just sold my gmc 2500 and ready to get my first jeep.looking for help with locating the right jeep for a good price.ive got about 20,000 to spend so if you guys had this amount to spend what would you buy?
Now to give you an idea what I was thinking.most likely 2 door rubi but maybe 4 door if it fits budget.I want 35-37 tires. I prob won't do extreme rock crawling but want something that is somewhat capable. Also has to handle well on the road. Daily driver but do have another vehicle to drive also.keep In mind not limited to rubi if built with proper equipment to equal or exceed the rubi.
Now my other option is to buy a stock keep and build it.
Anyone that has input or jeep in mind please post for me.
Thanks all

Good luck finding a Rubi for $20k...especially a 4 door. I would go with a sport or X and mod it yourself. There is a for sale section on this forum with plenty of modded Jeeps for sale. Check them out

Sorry guys I didn't include that I am not stuck to the jk years only.I can't realy justify spending 30-40k and then take it out through the trails and trees and bang it all up. I do have up to 30k to spend though.

Look for a used LJ. Little longer wheelbase than a TJ, but still shorted than a 4d JK. Super easy to mod and the wheelbase is awesome for offf road, but not too long so it corners good in the woods still.
Good luck finding a cheap rubi....find a jeep and build it up yourself.
Jeeps are built, not bought

If your not in a hurry spread your search through southern cal. I got my 07 4 door rubi with 20k miles for 22k. It was completely stock though. Just had to get a one way rental and drove it home.
