Default Help with body mount bolts

I just bought ACE rock rails. Can you tell me what the secret is to getting the body mount bolts out? They unbolt fine but dont drop out. Its like they have a retainer or something...i can unscrew until my heart is content but they done come out!

Mine were as much fun to get back in. Sorry but don't remember the secret. I think I just kept a downward pressure while unscrewing them.

They are like 6" long or so and at some point you might want to put some pliers in there and give a little tug to see it they are free. I thought I'd be in-bolting them forever too! Your doing fine!

Sounds good, i will keep at it and apply some good downforce. I think there must be some issue with the amount of blue locktite they have on those bolts. I think there are two sets of threads they have to back throu. They get through the first fine but they cant even start to thread on the second set because of the locktite covering up the threads..??

There are retainer washers on those bolts (Kind of like the ones that hold the rotors on), thats why they just spin and spin and spin. I used a long screwdriver to put continuous downpressure while unbolting and they finally gave in.

Use a pry bar to separate the bolt and washer from the body mount as shown in this pic....

All I had to do was spin the bolt with my impact and push down slightly on the washer. Flew right out at that point
