Default Hella 3 Trumpet Air Horn Install?

I recently purchased the Hella Air Horn (link below)

http://www.quadratec.com/products/97024_00.htm

along with a standard on/off Toggle switch. The goal is to not replace the existing crappy horn but to install the Hella Air as a stand alone unit with the on/off toggle switch.

Any suggestions or experience on where to mount 3 trumpets under the hood??

I've been thinking about the same thing, where to mount aux. horns.
Best place I came up with is on the hood itself, on the inside. It would hang in the space between the engine and the brake stuff, almost directly over the oil dipstick. There is a stiffener on the hood that's in the same area, it should bolt right on. This all depends, of course, on how much space they take.

I thought about buying/creating a bracket that I can mount all 3 trumpets to and then mount that bracket to something under the hood.

Another thought, I saw pictures on here where somebody mounted 2 trumpets to the hood directly above the battery.

I installed the hella 3-horn in my old truck. Good news is, if you can find space, it's a pretty easy install. Bad news is, the 3-horns are pretty short, so it ends up sounding more "screaming banshee" than "big rig in the fog". I ended up pulling it out and installing a better setup with two long metal horns. Much more satisfying.

But again, longer horns would be harder to find space for in a JK.

If you want to look through what types of airhorns are available, a certain popular auction site is a good place to start.

FWIW

dkingjk, I am planning on getting a 16" and 18" trumpet, and mount them over the wheels. That is still going to take a while, and will probably cost as much as a BB for what I want.

I have a firetruck air horn with a 1-gallon tank and compressor. I found 2 spots to mount it. Sideways in the front bumber area, or in the middle of the frame on the undercarrige. When i decide and mount I will post some pics.

Can you post pics of your compressor, tank and horns?
