Default Heat Reduction Hood Options

I have decided I do NOT want to cut my current hood and install louvers.

But I need a good heat reduction hood. There are a number of options: AEV, 10A, Rigged Ridge, etc.

I'd like to hear from JK owners that have used these and hear about pros, cons, effectiveness, fit, cost, etc.

Thanks!

I have an AEV hood with a 5.7 Hemi conversion. Works as advertised. No temp issues whatsoever. I think it is a nice looking hood. It is kind of heavy if that is concern for you. It is possible to install it yourself though. I did consider the TMD hood. I am happy with it.

FYI the 10a hood does not have real vents. They are more like drain holes from everything I've see. You may be able to modify that though

No cut? So, a $1,500.00 solution to a $150.00 problem then?

even the most expencive hoods will only be arround 1300.00 with paint.

Most tend to average arround 5 to 7 hundred.

I know I will be going with the AEV when the time happens. ScreaminLizard Customs will give free shipping on it which saves a couple hundred dollars.

I have the TOTL Innovations hood. I'm a big fan.

For function, I think TOTL has everyone beat. For looks, I think the AEV looks best.

The 10A/Hard Rock hoods do actually have the holes cut out, but come stock with plastic covers. You can remove them to vent from the hood.

Smittybilt has a copy of the hood and looks good from the pictures. They say it is also functional.
