Headlight housing compatability...

By the way, the e-code conversions I got have little raised "bumps" that push the light out farther to fit the JK headlight. You could call RallyLights and ask them if they can send JK specific E-Code Hellas only...
Somewhere on this forum, a member used rubber hose or something to help fit a standard 7" E-code headlight to his JK.

just a word of caution: he may blast u for HID conversion. he's not a fan of just putting HIDs in non-HID housings from what I've read.

I currently have the cibie headlamps with HID bulbs in them. They are bright and spread the light better than the stock (stock or HID). They do still have a good amount of glare but i have not been flashed once since i out them in about 2 months ago. Another downside is the brighter light amplifies a dead spot that the cibies have right in front of you about 50 ft out. Not horrible since most low beams dont light up that far stock, but still rather annoying since everything else looks like day light around it.
I plan on doing a projection retrofit with mercedes E55 projectors and compatible ballasts and bulbs. Another member did a write-up on this and the light output it amazing. Granted this takes some customization to make it work but i enjoy things like that. They have extremely sharp cutoffs and really light up the road.
Cibies are definitely one of the best, if not the best, headlamp replacements now. I am skeptical of the northridge4x4 bundle coming soon, only in the sense that i dont think theres a point to waiting since everything if available now for less to do exactly what they are putting together. I am interested none the less.
Hella e-codes are an acceptable replacement as well from what I have seen. They are more reasonably priced and easier to get. Throw some decent bulbs in them and you should be happy with the result.

Yeah his response clearly stated he does not in any way support the use of a "retrofit" HID kit.
I am still probably going to order the Hella E-code housings specifically for the JK and throw the H4 HID bulbs in to see how that works for me.
I would love to do a side-by-side comparason between an HID Hella E-code and a halogen Hella E-code with upgraded bulbs/harnesses.

I'm now torn between:
- ordering Rally's full kit (Hella e-codes and harness for $199)
- ordering the new Northride kit for $167 (IPF e-codes and pigtails only)
- ordering Cibie 7" from Daniel with or without upgrading the wiring
-- ($75 per light, bulbs $9-22 each depending on wattage, and maybe his harness for $132 or at least the pigtail adaptor which is 5C3Z13A006AA $34.21 (x2 I think) , so that's $226-$326 range.
- or get the Cibies from Daniel and the harness from Susquehanna which I think is about $84 if I'm reading this right at hxxp://www.rallylights.com/detail.aspx?ID=3730, so that means a total of $278 with the most expensive $22 Osram 70/65w bulbs that Daniel recommends.
I may email these questions back to Daniel and then post them here so we can all benefit from his advice without making him reply to everyone individually. I really really want to try and give him my business if at all possible if I can keep to my budget.
