Default Header install advice?

I'm looking at installing some gibson headers I picked up from a forum member a while back. can anyone give me some 'avoid this'... 'do this'... type of advice? Hoping to be able to knock it out this weekend.

The drivers side looks pretty approachable, what all time / effort can be expected with taking off other parts?

I assume having an extra set of hands will be needed, am I going to need to weld anything?

I know this is a broad generic question, but hoped maybe it could at least get the ball rolling getting me up to speed.

I've also read that upgraded plug wires and or thermal wrap for the headers should be installed, is this a must?

Thanks all,

LandoJEEP

Buy new exhaust manifold to head bolts and manifold to front pipe bolts and nuts. When you are taking your manifold to front pipe bolt off spray some WD-40 on the nuts and let it soak for a little while. Another thing is I would recommend taking your fenders and inner fenders off to do it. It makes the job easiers and with doing that I never had to take the battery, battery tray, fuse box and intake off to do the job. If you take the fenders off you will of coarse have to buy the hardware to re-attach it back onto the Jeep.

Get some high temp grade 8 hardware. My jeep didn't go very far after the header install before I heard a large pop from under the hood. I lost power and the check engine light came on. I found half of the "exploded" bolt on the skid plate. The bolt had gotten so hot it expanded to the point of exploding. This happened with several more grade 8 bolts until we tried the high temp ones. then the next problem began....
The insulation for the spark plug boots and wires is a must. I burned up a couple of BOOTS and one wire before installing the insulation. Slip them as far over the boots as you can and cover the wires on both sides of the motor. I found them on amazon. They are the ones that come in several colors. I can't remember the brand name of them.
Good luck

Wow $9 a clip... What a joke. That's just wrong...18 cents is doable. 9$ is crazy.
