Y'all are fueling a very dangerous fire in me. :-)
I was planning on running 33's or 34's until I could afford a full pro rock setup... but I need to wheel more to find my exact needs.

It seems to be the common thing...unless you are being extremely careless or don't know how to drive correctly off-road you will not break the D30 I beat on mine including getting air on some occasions and never had any damage...

The 2 cases of failure here so far seem to be due to something as stupid as losing a bearing cap on the axle u-joint. I probably wouldn't even classify it as breakage. Breaking an axle is more like destroying the housing or R&P. Well, at least to me.

D30 with 5.13s, 37" KM2s, EVO Cs and .44 Mag tubes, and NO problems at all. Easy on the skinny and watch you line and you will be fine. Just understand that EVERYTHING breaks at some time!

Waiting on g2 d60 at 4WP. got load and packed for offroad trip pulled out of driveway and loud pop. Noticed fluid leaking from rear 44 axle housing near pinion, open it up didn't see any teeth missing just where metal is rubbing metal. Thinking something fell out of my factory locker and wedged between it and housing causing it to crack my axle housing. Won't know till I get it out and take apart. I was more bummed about not getting to go on trip I was waiting on than having to replace the axle. O well got me a d60 head this way.
