Default Has anyone upgraded console locks?

Hey all - Has anyone tried to change out the locks for the center console and glove box to make them any stronger (using a steel latch hook) or anything? I was trying to think of a way to do this rather than having to replace the console for a better, more secure one.

Any ideas are appreciated!

Good idea. I picked up some circular cam locks from a lock and safe company for my tool box, they cost like 14 dollars or something. This what your thinking?

I think it kinda comes down to what the lock core looks like. I bet you could call the parts dept. and ask what the dimensions of the replacements are.

Yeah, yeah, that's exactly what I'm thinking. It seems like a better idea to change that out rather than replace the whole thing... Now I guess its just about finding a way to do it...

I doubt changing the lock will make anything more secure. Both the console and the glove box can simply be torn right out if they really want in.

Yes but the factory locks are unlocked by the key that the valet has.. Defeats the purpose.

I carry a Wal-mart copy of my key in my wallet. This way I always have a key to unlock the doors or console.
