Default Has anyone tried 15" Cragar V-5 wheels?

I have been looking for black steel wheels and really like the look of the Cragar V-5. It is not offered in a 16" so I thought I would try 15"s. While I have heard of some clearance issues with 15"s, I was wondering if anyone knew for sure these would fit. I do have the 1.5'" spacers so I thought it would be a little easier fit, but I am looking for proof. Thanks in advance for your help.

haven't tried those specific wheels but if u get 3.75" back spacing u should be fine without wheel spacers.

I actually tried to order those in 16x8's when I got my soft 8's but no one had them in stock and it sounded like a long lead time. I'll be interested in how they work for you. I might end up going the same direction...

I talked directly to Cragar and they said the 16" would not work with the JK. They had plans to build them and already had them in their catolog, but had to stop production since the JK market was left out. My original question stemmed from the 16's not available. but the 15's are.

I'm just going to mention what everybody else has found out since 07'. It's pretty much buyer beware with any 15" wheel. Some fit, and some don't. Some people seem to have slightly different brake calipers or a different batch number of the same wheels that don't work together. The only way to know for sure is to pony up the cash and take a crack at it.

Wheel spacers could help. I've got 16" Crager Soft-8's. Mine fit without the 1.5" SpiderTrax spacers I've got, but others weren't so lucky.

I'd also contact DiscountTiresDirect on the forums here. They deal with Unique Wheels, which the "unlabelled" company that makes a good deal of Cragars wheels for them - MUCH cheaper. And they'll cut you a forum site sponsor deal too. Good luck.

That makes sense of what i have been reading. I never considered the caliper being different. Also, thanks for the info on the wheels. That is really good to know.

I'll throw out one more thing I found out recently... if you have a heavy duty tie rod such as the Rock Krawler, the tie rod will rub on the wheels when you turn it all the way to the left or right unless you have enough backspacing. Mine is great with the spacers, but I took them off for a return trip to the dealer and found out about the clearance problems.

I ran into a problem with 15" wheels. I ordered a set of Pacer Streetlocks in 15x10. They would not clear without spacers. With the spacers, they just stuck out way too wide. I ended up with a set of Eagle Alloys in 15x8. They worked perfectly. Plus, their aluminum so they are lighter.
