Hardcore winch torture test shootout in MOAB...
I found this article courtesy of a forum member, and thought I'd be nice and share with everyone... This is the best winch comparison article that I've seen thus far, and I hope that reading it will help some of you contemplating a winch purchase and struggling with the all-important "which one" dilemma.
Note to Mods: I posted this link in an earlier thread, but wanted to give it some visibility to the forum. The aformentioned thread contained subsequent posts from WOL, so I believe this link is allowed to remain "live," but please correct me if I'm wrong.

they didn't really test the T-Max or Ramsey though. I guarant-damn-tee that if the Warn had a solenoid or cable problem, they would have fixed it and got it back in the competition.

I'm sorry - what are basing this statement on? Their rules were simple: If it broke to the point where it couldn't be easily fixed, it was ruled DNF. Why would you think that they'd give Warn (or anyone else) a free ride?

I'm not sure where they are getting the $500 difference. My first 9.5 XT for my 2005 Rubi LJ was $850 and my present one for my 2007 Rubi 4 door was $900. I've also had a 9.5 Ti for a 2003 Rubi. I think the motor is better on the XT but the solenoid pack may not be as convienent.
The $200 to $300 difference is worth it for the mechanical warranty.
