Default Harken Hoister

I have had the Harken Hoister for a couple of years now. Works great for me. I can change tops in a 1/2 hour by myself. The 6:1 self braking block and tackle makes lifting the 90# top a breeze. I've used Harken product on sailboats for 40 years.

Whatever system you use, check beforehand for clearance and structural integrety of your ceiling. I added strong-backs in my attic just to be double sure.

I use cheap tie-down staps as a security blanket and to help distribute the weight:
