I made mine with 32 dollars of stuff from lowes. 20 for eye bolts and 12 for 300 lb ratchet straps. It works perfect.

X2 for the ratchet straps and eye hooks for cheap. I think I spent a total of about $35 on Amazon.

Can you explain a little more where you hook the straps to the top and method of operation? I am assuming you work your way around lifting each strap a little bit at a time?

Do you lower it after removed or leave it hanging from the straps?

Hey,

I hook the straps in the back to the holes in the fiberglass. Since I have the partial top, or freedom top, or whatever it's called, I just hook the straps in the corner. With tension on, they don't even move. Then I just crank it up about 3 inches going clockwise. You can go either way. Then I just pull my rig out. I don't lower it. I don't have enough room in my garage for that. To ensure it wont fall i tie the extra straps together, front right to rear right and front left to rear left. I've left it for weeks at a time without any problems. When I want to put it back on I just back in until its close to where it needs to be and lower the straps in a clockwise manner like I raised it and it drops right into place. After you do it a few times it gets very easy. It takes me 5 minutes either way now. I'll post some pics tomorrow of where I exactly put the straps for you. I'm watching game 7 right now.

Cheers

I just installed the Racor hoist. Very nice setup and feels rock solid, you can also put the top panels on top of the rack for storage.
