They are 3/8" holes, so im sure there is more air flow than the mesh, or the gutter guard kits

But then again I suppose it could be, but mpg havent changed, so ill have to wait till summer to see if I have any issues

If these motors were going to overheat because of reduced airflow from a grille then they would overheat simply by idling at a red light. Millions of cars and trucks do just fine with grilles that cover even more surface area. If the radiator and electric fan(s) can't do it alone then you have bigger problems besides a custom grille.
