#3. GREASE THE DAMN THING every 3,000m . Cheap joints, expensive joints, centerball cv,splined section, it all needs greasing frequently.
x3/4/5

Reading through all of the recent posts on bad joints, some common themes are:
- may not have been greased by the vendor
- didn't bother to grease when installed
- didn't bother to grease as part of regular maintenance

If you can't maintain your joints, get sealed.

In addition if you get sealed, know that every year or so they'll need to be replaced if you want piece of mind.
And unless someone has come up with a new way to keep that centerball completely sealed, its still needs greasing.

That was a question I had a while back. Since there isn't a zerk there, all you can really do is drop the shaft and try to work some grease in while manipulating the joint, right? Any ideas on how effective it is?

I have been considering sealed joints if/when mine fail, but want to get a better handle on the pro's/con's.

David hooked me up with front and rear coast driveshafts shipped up here to AK for $1,000. I put about 5,000 miles on them since and absolutely love them.

Sounds about as effective as trying to work grease into a non-greasable tierod end. Better than nuthing I would guess.
Might wanna call the manf. and see what they say and may give you some kind of recommended rebuild time frame. And whatever their time frame is, shorten it by 6mos and do it then.

FWIW I am running an AEV front driveshaft and really love it. It uses the factory rezepa joint and is very smooth with no bad vibes at all. I have had it for a while now with zero issues. I think I paid around $400 or somewhere around there. I feel that all their stuff is top notch and very well engineered. Give them a call and they could prolly give you more specs.

Quick Reply: gotta get a new front driveshaft
