I think he must have an agreement with the local electric company that they finish construction on a new power plant before he turn that thing on.

Just kidding--I'll bet that's great in the dark.

I can't wait 'till you smack a low tree branch and rip it off your rack!!!

Kidding! I wouldn't wish that on anybody. That would be an expensive mistake!!

Can't wait to see the beam shots.

What you've all been waiting for: Beamshots from the XMitter bar. Sorry these are preliminary and not compared to my HID's. All photo groups are shot with the same exposure. Keep in mind - the bar is merely resting on the pushbar of my patrol car. Also, it was raining and foggy out, so there is a slight white haze and the light didn't go as far as it would on a clear day. The first three photos are as follows:

1. Patrol car, low beams only
2. Patrol car, high beams only
3. Patrol car, only XMitter bar activated.

The next two are of an industrial complex across the canal and across the street - The first is with no illumination at all and the second is with the XMitter bar:

This last photo shows it on the push bar of my patrol car with all of my lights activated. IT's so bright, it washed everything away.

This thing is positively amazing! On my next day off, I will take photos against the HID's.

Wow. That's bright!

How big of a ticket would you write me if you caught me driving down the street with that?

That is crazy.

That just sucks the price is so high....

For that price it better be lifetime guaranteed with no questions asked....

Here's a breakdown if you were to stack the 42" bar against equivalent-lumen HID and halogen systems:

1 240w xmitter:
60lm/w * 240w = 14.4klm
lumens per dollar at $1700 per light = 8.5lm/$

4 35w HID:
4 * 100lm/w * 35w = 14.0klm
lumens per dollar at $500 per light = 7lm/$

8 90w halogen:
8 * 20lm/w * 90w = 14.4klm
lumens per dollar at $100 per light = 18lm/$

Halogen is the cheapest, HID is the most efficient, but try finding spots to mount 8 or even 4 additional lights on a vehicle without looking like a Baja trophy truck. The halogens would also consume 720w (60A at 12V)--that's quite a load on the battery and alternator compared to 240w for the LED or 140w for the HID.

Me? I'm going for some Baja Designs HID lights once I figure out where to mount them, but I think the xmitter has a cool factor that might just justify its $1700 price tag.

Only one thing, the bulbs in HID's and Halogens and be easily replaced and located...Not so easy with LED's soldered to a board and where you going to find replacements for these?
