Gorilla 12k
I have the 12k on mine and have used it several times now. The last time to pull a 1 ton dually pickup who got himself high centered on a boulder. The damn thing doesn't even seem to lug down, and besides it came with a wireless remote. The price couldn't be beat either.

I'll be happy to let you pull Will out of whatever he gets into (or Demetri if he shows) next time we get together! I'll let my Warn just look pretty on my AEV bumper! Heck you can even pull yourself out next time you try it!

and on a side note....what is the fording capability of winches in general? I assume they can be submerged? just not used while submerged....

I was looking at the gorilla winches too, that or summits T-Max winch. I guess gorilla is pretty popular with ATV winches. From what I have read on the ATV forums, they seem to like them. Now the large recovery winches are out and they have good warranties. Let me know how it holds up on the trail.

I have a 9500 electric mile marker and my friend has a 10k gorilla on his Sammy. To be honest, we have not had much of a chance to actuallyu play with his yet. Tried to pull my Jeep out of some mud holes with his, but the Sammy just ends up sliding towards the Jeep, not the Gorilla's fault. It is however slower than my Milemarker.

wow old thread......I hadn't even heard of the gorilla winch before.....I have had two Warns over the years, and never looked back.....it has saved my a$$ many times.....but have only had to use it about 4 times since adding the new one to my rig ...I am sure most winches out there are capable of doing the job......I just have always liked the Warn..
Had to pull out a fellow Rubi after he highcentered....
