Default Goodyear Wrangler

Hey guys, I am looking to get rid of my stock donuts and am looking at Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor. I use my jeep as my DD and don't do any extreme wheeling, mostly bad forest roads service-type roads on my friends hunting lease and the occasional trip to Uwharrie. My dad has a set on his 4-Runner that he just replaced after 70,000 mi. so I know these will be durable and the tread looks aggressive enough for my needs. Does anybody have any experience with these tires, how do they perform offroad? any other suggestions in the price range that would meet my needs?

I've owned 2 vehicles that I've had Silent Armor's. Our Liberty has 55,000 on the set, and I sold our GMC Canyon truck that had 36,000 on a set. They ride smooth, are awesome in the winter and wet. The "offroading" I've used them in was a pretty rugged wooded cow farm cutting wood. I don't know anything slicker than cow crap. These are great and I"m replacing the Liberty tires in the next couple of weeks with a new set of Silent Armor's, and am trying to figure if I want them for the JK or not. They're at the top of the list right now though. They also have the severe snow rating with the mountain/snow flake symbol. What size are you looking at?

I have the Silent Armours on my lifted Grand and they have been great. I like that they are slightly aggresive, but dont make a lot of noise on the road. I have 20k on them and they look new.

Consider the BFG/TA KO's as well.

I had some on a work vehicle back in FL. They seemed pretty descent, look at the wrangler AT/S. Those perform very well on the road and pretty good off road as well. I haven't had any problems with any of the goodyear tires that I have used. I am getting rid of my BFG rubicon tires. 5,000 miles of on/off road and the lugs have worn way too fast!!!!! Good for the street, little noise but way too soft!!!!!

I have the 305x70x16 on the Jeep and I like them alot. They have great traction in all of the Florida trail stuff and aren't too bad in deep mud, they do sling the crap everywhere.........

My only small problem, is that the dealer has to be told to balance the tires better than they would normally and put weights on both sides of my rims. If we don't do this I have a vibration at 50-65 MPH, sometime it might be lower.

It still whine a little on the road, but nothing like my MTR's or the Swampers I had on the CJ.......

This is my daily driver and when we go to the trails, everyone is impressed with the traction of the tires. And they do test me when we go out.
