they are both amazing tires. I think you will get better life from the BFG, maybe a little less noise also. Both are great tires!!! I doubt either will disappoint you. I would have bought the BFG instead of the Nittos I got but the price difference was too much for me. I had the goodyear MTR on my TJ and loved them. They worked great in everything but rain.

what kind of nittos did u wind up getting ..and if u will what was the price

Both are excellent tires. BFG is less noisy. I had MT/Rs on my '05 TJ and loved them, but they were noisy as they wore. I'm sure the difference in noise is not that different from my BFGs. I think much of it was the TJ itself.

If you wait a while, the MT/R are going down in price since Goodyear is coming out with the new MT/R with Kevlar. Very nice tires with an asymmetrical pattern.

You really can't go wrong with either tire. Both are great and you'll be happy with either.

but the MTR is better..... these are just my opinions.... after all the put MTRs on "Rubicons"

On a side note I was just having the discussion about the new MTR's with my tire rep and he showed me a review of the new MTR on a JK 4door and the review I read was finominal they said rocks, loose dirt, mud wet grass it excelled at everything the only question left remaining was about the tread life with the wider tread voids
