Default A good Write Up for a set of lights for front bumper???

Having just received my 08 Sahara 4dr last night (instead of waiting for another month for my order to come in), i decided to not get a new front bumper untill I can afford the one I want, and the winch I want, so I am going to just put on a Pro Comp Light bar for the factory one and a cheaper set of lights. I am pretty handy, and know wiring well enough, but also have a friend who is an engineer who is gonna help me do the wiring, but was wondering if there is a really good write up for how to do the wiring. What are my options, direct to battery, to a fuse, use the factory head lights wiring, ect... Mine came standard with the factory Fog lights, but i like the looks of the light bar, and can always use a little more light

I am just nervous with wiring in an unfirmilir thing (that being a car, not a house). I would love some really good detailed explanations if possible.

Thanks

The KC Daylighters on mine had some good instructions. They are great lights with a lifetime warranty and are about $99.

The 6" KC Slimlights I got had excellent instructions for wiring. The only issues I had with wiring them were 1) where to mount the relay socket and 2) the length of the wire that goes inside to the switch.
I left the relay and socket "floating" beside the fuse box.
I had to splice additional wire onto the end of one of the wires running to the switch, because the wire that came with the kit was too short to run over to where I mounted my switch, next to the driver side lower speaker... just like in one of the previous threads.
As for routing the wires to the lights themselves, I drilled a couple of holes in the top of the bumper directly below the lights and ran the wires down thru the new holes. I drilled the holes where I only had to drill thru plastic, not steel.

Yeah the relay wire is pretty short on the KC wire loom but I think that is on purpose for electrical reasons I may not understand. After hooking everything up I put alot of silicone all around the relay connection for weather proofing and then used double sided 3M tape to mount it near the fuse box.

so did you guys go directly to the batt, and then to a switch, or did you do it to the current fuse box, or add in a new fuse box?

The KC's have in-line fuses and are wired directly to the battery & switch.

I connected the +12v wire(that goes to the in-line fuse) to the big lug inside the fuse box where the power comes into the fuse box from the battery.
