1700 is the exact quote I got from OK4WD in Jersey.

At this time that much money is better spent elsewhere, however if a reputable shop quoted 1000 for everything I would be there yesterday.

Yeah if I could get it done for $1000-$1200 I would do it in a second.

I was quoted 1157 in Joplin, MO. Nothing like the cheap mid west prices.

That price is about right, we charge around 1200 (labor, pinion bearings and gear oil) if you bring your own gears, our labor rate is $83/ hour.

Here's what I was quoted (shop in Indiana, came highly recommend by a couple of JK owners that had gear swaps done about a year ago without issues):
Gears and Kits (front & rear) - $640
Gear Swap Labor - $500

Default gears

Just had mine done by Eric at Freaky Tree Offroad in Manassas. Brought the gears to him (from Northridge). Was alot less expensive than $1700...... and you can watch him do them if you want to wait. After seeing him do them, I will not pay again, I will buy a couple of tools I don't have and do it myself.

Also some one else just got theirs done at Manassas Jeep. Pretty good price discount for novajeepers (20% or so I've heard)

Do you mind me asking how much you paid at Freaky Tree. I am not too far from them and would be willing to make that drive up there for the right price. Did you go with 5:13's? Thanks for the info.
