GOOD 35s FOR ON AND OFF ROAD??
anyone have any suggestions for a good 35" tire for on road and mild off road use, good wear on road. was going to get Mickey's MTZs, 4-6 week wait. got thew itch and can't wait. gonna run 16" wheels
looking @ dick cepek mud country's..
or what about changing to 17" wheels. does wheel size make a big difference between 6s and 17s???

Dick Cepek FC II
DC FC II is my vote. I've got almost 7,000km on them, and they look almost new still. They are quite on the highway, have awesome winter handling, and they have an aggressive tread (cross between an AT and MT design). If you want a tire that's good in mud, snow, ice, rain, sand, rocks and still has good road manners... DC FC II is it.

I have DC Mud Countrys. They are the first mud tires I've owned, so I don't have any frame of reference, but they still seem loud to me. They work great in mud and rocks, though. I will try something else when I need new tires.

None are "good" at both.
BFG AT are good on road, fine on the rocks but suck in the mud.
My Mickey Thompson MTZ is fine on road (but look out on snow packed roads), great in the rocks and in the mud.
My BFG KM2's were fine on road, ok in the mud and good in the rocks.

Be carefull going with tires on a 16" rim. If you ever want to go to 37" tires, the selection drastically reduced. I have 16" rims. They're great for 35's but wish I had 17" rims now that I want to go to 37".

Nitto Trail Grapplers
I am growing really fond of my Nitto Trail Grapplers...they are super quiet on the road and perform really well off road.
These are my first set of 35's so nothing to compare them to other than stock wheels. They are a bit heavy, but look awesome and perform awesome IMO.
Good luck!
